Special Olympics Northern California
& The Special Report
The Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame and Special Olympics Northern California share more than a stage — we share a belief that sport has the power to transform lives, build character, and unite communities.
Special Olympics Northern California enriches the lives of children and adults with intellectual disabilities through sports, health, leadership, and inclusive school programs. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, SONC offers free year-round programming across Northern California — empowering athletes to be their best both on and off the field.
At the heart of our storytelling is The Special Report — an athlete-led interview series hosted by Special Olympics NorCal Athlete Leaders, who sit down with some of the most celebrated names in Bay Area sports. From career highlights and defining moments to what it truly means to be Special — these conversations remind us all why sport matters far beyond the scoreboard.
We are proud that several Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame inductees have sat down with our Athlete Leaders over the years — and we are honored to share these conversations with the BASHOF community.
Episodes of The Special Report are available on YouTube.
