Esteemed Bay Area basketball head coach including Stanford University (1986-2004), University of California, Berkeley (2008-2014) and two seasons with the NBA’s Golden State Warriors (2004-2006); Inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame (2016); Over his 32-year collegiate coaching career, Montgomery’s teams made 16 NCAA Tournaments, captured six conference championships, and amassed nearly 700 victories. He also led Stanford to the NIT championship in 1991, and a Final Four appearance in 1998.
