Born in San Francisco, where he played at Galileo High School, Dominic DiMaggio was signed by the Seals in 1937. He joined the Boston Red Sox in 1940, where he played 11 seasons, which were interrupted by three years of military service. He was an outstanding outfielder with a great arm and a lifetime BA of .298.

Inducted into the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame in 1992.
