Jimmy Johnson played his entire career with the 49ers, from 1961 to 1976. Prior to that, in1960, he was selected as a Track & Field All-American at UCLA. Elected All-Pro four times and to the Pro Bowl five times, he led the 49ers in career interceptions, with 47 for 615 return yards. He was selected by his teammates for the Len Eshmont Award as the team’s most inspirational player for both the 1965 and the 1975 seasons.
Inducted into the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame in 1990.
