John Elway was a Stanford All-American quarterback from 1979-1982. Then, with the Denver Broncos, he created unmatched NFL records, with 148 wins, passed more than 3,000 yards, and rushed more than 200 yards in the same season for seven straight years. Elway also had 36 career 300-plus yards passing games, played in five Super Bowls, was MVP in the 1999 Super Bowl, played in nine Pro Bowls, and was the NFL MVP in 1987 and AFC Player of the Year in 1993.
Inducted into the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame in 2003.
