The 17th Annual BASHOF Golf Classic!

With great success and in keeping with its long tradition of raising money to “help kids play sports,” the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame hosted its annual golf tournament on Monday, October 22 at San Francisco’s beautiful Olympic Club, home of the 2012 U.S. Open.
Neither early-morning rain, nor the ever-important third presidential debate that evening, nor game seven of the NLCS to send the Giants into the World Series would deter close to 200 golfers and guests who showed up for a fantastic day of golf on the Olympic Club Lake and Ocean courses and an evening of fun. As the weather broke in the midmorning, the Olympic Club was granted a day of beautiful sunshine in which golfers enjoyed in their foursomes—and, for a lucky few, celebrity fivesomes—with BASHOF inductees.

The day could not have ended better because, as a few remaining guests stayed to watch, the Giants defeated the Cardinals in the NLCS to advance to the World Series—truly an all-around great day for sports in San Francisco! As all of our generous guests, sponsors and donors noted, the purpose of this event was to raise money for youth sports.

At the end of the day, the 17th Annual BASHOF Golf Classic was a tremendous success and will greatly aid BASHOF in its quest to “help kids play sports!”
